Tips For The Want-To-Be Blog Designers

As you may or may not know, I design blogs for a business. I have a little Etsy shop that I run with my aunt. Sometimes I will be asked questions about how to blog designs & my tips for starting a blog designing business. I decided to write a post that includes my tips. And just know- I can't really give away all my secrets :) But if you have an additional question, email me at inadazeblogdesigns@gmail.com

Thank you! On to the Q+As.

No one is ordering from my shop. What should I do??
Your orders aren't going to come all in one day. You need to remember that people need time to find you shop! Also, sign up for social media sites. Pinterest and Facebook are great social media sites for marketing.

I want to stick to one 'type of design', but I can seem do do that...help!
Decide on a target. Photographers? Food bloggers? Fitness bloggers? Create packages that fit them!

What are some of your tips for creating headers?
Stay clean & professional. Stick to at most 3 colors and fonts. I always create my headers around 1000x200 pixels, 96 DPI, and save them as png images.

I don't understand coding but I really want to be a blog designer!
Okay, so first off, learn basic coding. You need need need need to know at least some coding! Just google what you are trying to code...Google always has an answer!

I have tried reaching out to other blog designers and asking for their tips, but they say they can't give me any. Why is this?
To be honest, they are just trying to keep their privacy! They don't want to share all their advice to other designers who will potentially be competing against their sales.

RANDOM TIPS:
-Make sure that fonts you use in your designs are free for COMMERCIAL USE.
-Make sure that images you use in your logos are not copyrighted. Always ask permission by the illustrator.
-Reach out to other blog designers if you want tips. Like I said above, some like their privacy, but others would be totally willing to help!
-Learn basic HTML coding, as I said above.
-Learn how to make headers, backgrounds, social media icons, tabs, buttons, everything! That way you can keep your customer happy :)

That's a wrap for part one!
Again, email me if you have any other ?s. Thanks!

It would be hard to choose just one favorite, because I love all of these! But if I had to choose, I would go with the Coneria font. I LOVE it!!

Easy Pin Cushion Tutorial

This is a super easy tutorial and can be made with things that you already have in the house.

These are the supplies you need:

start by putting the batting on the fabric.

fold and pinch the ends together so that none of the batting can be seen or could fall out.

like so....

Secure the ends together with a rubber band or hair tie.

flip it over, it should look like this.

Put it in your jar or candle-holder with the tied end facing down. I got my jar from my room, it was full of random clips and pennies. I cleaned it out and now it makes extra pins look adorable!

Insert your pins...

and enjoy! hope you liked this tutorial!
